Night Walk 001

A few weeks ago, a mini Flock set off on our first ecological research trip as a group as well as our first night-time walk!

Bird Sightings:

We hiked through St James’ Park and set up bat monitors, given to us by @batconservationtrust - leaving the monitors in 5 different locations overnight to see what species they’d record. The monitors are now on their way back to the BCT so stay tuned to see what they found! Hopefully some Tawny Owls, which have been recorded in the busy Central London park!

We also tried to set up a moth trap and ended up attracting a single thread-waisted wasp and a few mosquitos; perhaps one to save for the summer!

We invited some of our members along to show that there’s always nature around: even at night time in a busy major city!

Huge thanks to @uniqlo_uk for making this important trip possible and supplying us with Heattech to keep us all warm. Stay tuned for more night time walks!
